CCF is an alternative forestry management system that does not involve clearfelling of the trees and instead canopy cover is maintained at all times. Forest management uses natural woodland processes to develop a forest that is capable of naturally regenerating itself.
The attractiveness of the clearfell system is that it yields a large sum of money when the site is felled. However, one of the main issues for a forest owner with conventional clearfell systems is the costs involved with replanting and maintaining a site after it is cleared.
